Before (and during) law school, I was a FINRA licensed financial professional, working with clients to accomplish their financial goals. What inspired you to get into this line of work?
When I was working in investment services, I had a number of clients with planning documents in place, but most didn't understand their documents and were afraid to ask questions. Some of the documents were very old, and some were not well drafted. I determined that if clients were going to get better documents and better service, they needed someone to provide that to them, and that someone could be me.
What's one piece of insight you wish all families knew?
I wish all families knew how good it feels to get this planning done. Over the years, the sentiments I've heard over and over from my clients, when plans are completed and in place, are the following: 1- They knew they waited too long to get started and they experienced stress over it; and 2- Getting it done turned out to be pretty easy and painless after all, and when it was done they felt very good about it.
