Dementia and Grief Coach
Dr. Cate, Dementia Coach in Owings Mills, MD
My expertise is based in decades of experience in professional and family care coupled with thorough academic preparedness. Having been an activities director in long-term care, my focus is on quality of life at end-of-life. I am all about the psycho-social health of the family and the individual--there is always a team. Sometimes a coach has to assist in establishing the health of the team even at the end of what feels like a losing season. Using last moments to enhance and reduce regrets.

From my first nursing home resident, I knew I wanted to improve quality of life. Since the first resident I have been honored to provide quality of life at end-of-life for many individuals who either died alone or were part of a disconnected family. No matter how prepared we think we are, there is always more to complete with an individual friend or family member. In my experience, the more details that are defined, the more time there is for that completion, those quality moments.
It takes a whole team to successfully age, to have a good death. It is not a simple matter of paperwork and solitude. We are so much stronger with the support of chosen others. We have choices until our final breath.
I am excited by the simplicity and user-friendliness of Addio. It is a set of tools that smoothly provides communication across generations with safeguards and dynamic features. Addio stands out as the most adaptable tool, with the lowest stress in changing details that were meant to be dynamic. Having such a platform that reaches across geography and generations is so necessary in a world of geographically distant families and advocates.
