What inspired you to get into this line of work?
My inspiration is people. I love knowing that my line of work provides peace of mind to families just like it does for mine. I have watched families fall apart because they could not afford to cover unexpected costs when a loved one died, such as paying for their home, bills, or funeral costs. I am inspired to take that burden away, so that every family has time to properly mourn and figure out the next step in their lives with financial peace.
What's one piece of insight you wish all families knew?
All families should know the importance of communication with each other regarding the hard topics such as the end of life. It is important to live our lives without anxiety or fear of death, one way to do that is to be prepared. The Greek poet Epicurus believed people should enjoy the life they have, that means finding a way to rid our mind of the anxieties of death. "Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist." -Epicurus
What excites you most about working with Addio families?
I strive to live my life to watch other people find peace and enjoyment. Addio has been able to develop a strategy to bring together many end of life resources into one place that gives each client the ability to relieve anxiety about the future and enjoy the present. Not only does this help each client, but also provides a great relief for their families. My joy comes when I see another receiving joy.
