Death Doula

Sunset Companions LLC in Philadelphia, PA

My story starts with my Mom.  She died in August 2012 after a long illness, while on hospice service.  Thanks to her hospice service, I found her last days to be a sacred time.  That hospice experience led me to become a hospice volunteer in 2013.  I continue in that role. It led me to start this death doula practice. My passion is to empower people to create and implement a plan. A plan for saying goodbye. Goodbye to their life. Or the life of a loved one.

What's one piece of insight you wish all families knew?

The better the planning, the better the journey of the dying person, and of the folks close to the dying person. Both up until and after the death. "Grief is natural. Suffering can be optional."
